“YOU HAVE AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE IN ALLAH’S MESSENGER”

We often mention the persecution and suffering Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him has been through in his way to spread Islam and call people to it.  However, Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him was tempted and indeed offered bribes in order to give his mission up, or to at least ease off his difficulties, but he refused them all.  He never accepted any bribe to divert him in the least from his mission.  In doing that, he is a great example for us.

1-    The disbelievers offered to worship Allah the Highest for a year, on the condition that he worships the Idles for a year, but he refused.  He would have had peace and tranquility from the continuous persecution.  In the mean time would have got the disbelievers to worship Allah the Highest half the time, but Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him refused.

2-    The disbelievers in Makah offered Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him through his uncle Abu Talib to; collect money to give him and make him the wealthiest man in Makah, and to make him the head and chief of Makah.  There was one condition; that is to stop calling people to Islam.

Here the bribe was not only to be spared the suffering, but also wealth, authority and power.  But Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him refused this too.

Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him gave us the Excellent Example of standing firmly for one’s principles, in spite of temptations and bribes of any kind, of wealth, power, authority or any thing else in order to give it or some of it up.
