Hud 29-30

Hud 29-30

29- “MY PEOPLE, I AM NOT ASKING YOU A RECOMPENSE FOR THIS, FOR MY RECOMPENSE IS WITH ALLAH, AND I WILL NOT TURN THE BELIEVERS AWAY, FOR THEY WILL MEET THEIR LORD, AND I SEE THAT YOU ARE IGNORANT PEOPLE”.

30- “AND MY PEOPLE, WHO WILL SUPPORT ME AGAINST ALLAH IF I TURN THEM AWAY, DO YOU NOT COMPREHEND”.

Whenever a person does any work in the cause of Allah the Highest, one should expect the recompense for from Allah only.  Allah’s prophets and messengers, peace upon them, did not want or expect recompense from the people they were sent to, but only from Allah the Highest.

In fact, Allah the Highest does not accept or recompense for any deed unless it is for Him alone, for He said in Hadith Qudsi: “I am the one who does not need partners, therefore whoever does a deeds in which he gives me partners, I will leave it to the partner”.

The second issue in these Ayahs is to turn the believers away in order to please others.  Allah the Highest said: AND DO NOT TURN OUT THOSE WHO CALL UPON THEIR LORD BY DAY AND NIGHT, SEEKING HIS FACE (HIM ALONE), YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR JUDGEMENT AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR JUDGEMENT, IF YOU SEND THEM AWAY, YOU WILL BE AN UNJUST TRANSGRESSOR”. (S: 6 A: 52)

There is a clear difference in status and value between the believer and the disbeliever before Allah the Highest.  Allah the Highest told His messenger, prayer and peace upon him, in the Quran about this in no uncertain terms, when he just frowned when a blind Muslim man went to speak to him while Allah’s messenger was speaking to some of the disbelievers.  The first Ayahs of Sorah Abes are about this.  Mohamed, prayer and peace upon him, used to say to this man when he saw him: “Welcome to whom my Lord reproached me about”.   We should note that in this situation, Mohamed, prayer and peace upon him, did not turn the blind believer away, but just frown and turned his face away from him, when he interrupted his conversation with the disbelievers he was trying to attract to Islam.  The blind man did not see this reaction, but Allah the Highest did, and it was enough to cause Him to reproach His messenger, prayer and peace upon him.

The believers will meet with their Lord, and their Status and Esteem will be raised then, therefore the believers should be aware of the status of other believers before Allah the Highest and treat them accordingly.

Allah’s messenger, prayer and peace, upon him said: “Insulting a believer is wickedness, and fighting him is disbelief”. (B: Eman; 36 & M: Eman; 116 & T: Ber; 51)

These are the values and the esteem of the believer before Allah the Highest.
