Hud 23-24

Hud 23-24

23- THOSE WHO BELIEVE AND DO GOOD DEEDS AND ARE CONTENTED WITH THEIR LORD, THEY ARE THE PEOPLE OF THE PARADISE, WHERE THEY ABIDE FOREVER.

24- THE EXAMPLE OF THE TWO GROUPS IS THAT OF THE BLIND AND DEAF; AND HE WHO SEES AND HE WHO HEARS, ARE THEY THE SAME?  DO YOU NOT THINK?

Allah the Highest is telling us about three characteristics of those who enter the Paradise; they do so through Allah’s Mercy:

1-    Believing, that is to believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Hereafter and Fate, good and bad.

2-    To do good deeds.  Belief has to be confirmed by righteous acts, which are the expressions of the Faith in the Heart.

3-    To be contented with our Lord, His commands, and Fate.  Also good deeds should not lead to pride and arrogance.

Obeying Allah the Highest and doing what he commands us to do and what pleases Allah the Highest.  All such deeds should be done with humility, and should never be the cause of pride or arrogance.  No one should ever think that he is better than another by virtue of worship or obedience of our Lord, for Allah the Highest only knows what is in our hearts, and only He accepts or rejects our deeds.  Iblis thought himself better than Adam by virtues of the material he was created from, as Allah the Highest said: HE (ALLAH) SAID: “WHAT IS IT THAT PREVENTED YOU FROM PROSTRATING AS I COMMANDED YOU?”  HE (IBLIS) SAID: “I AM BETTER THAN HIM; YOU CREATED ME FROM FIRE AND CREATED HIM FROM CLAY”.  (S:7 A:12)

Allah the Highest created us with eyesight and hearing which are to see and hear in order to comprehend what we see and hear, and in order to make sense of and understand the creation around us.  Those who see and hear without comprehending are no better than the blind and deaf.  It is not our eyes that lose their sight, but the hearts that lose their comprehension.  Allah the Highest said: AND WE HAVE CREATED FOR THE HELL-FIRE MANY JINN AND HUMANS, THEY HAVE HEARTS, THEY DO NOT COMPREHEND WITH, AND HAVE EYES, THEY DO SEE WITH, THEY ARE LIKE CATTLE, BUT THEY ARE EVEN MORE MISGUIDED, THEY ARE THOSE WHO IGNORE THE RIGHT GUIDANCE”.  (S:7 A:179)

And said: “DID THEY NOT WALK THROUGH THE EARTH, AND THEY HAVE HEARTS TO COMPREHEND WITH, OR EARS TO HEAR WITH, IT IS NOT THE HEARTS THAT ARE BLINDED, BUT BLINDED ARE THE HEARTS THAT ARE IN THE CHESTS”.  (S:22 A:46)

Hearing, vision and comprehension are the instruments and faculties Allah the Highest has given to us to use, and when we do not use them properly, it will be as if we do not have them.

There are great signs of Allah’s presence and creation in us, plus all that is around us on Earth and the Universe.  We should look carefully at all that and reflect, and find The Great Creator.  We do not in fact need any more signs or miracles from the prophets and messengers peace upon them, for we are surrounded with miracles.
