Hud 15-16

Hud 15-16

15- THOSE WHO DESIRE THE LOWER LIFE AND ITS ORNAMENTS, WE WILL RECOMPENSE THEM THEREIN IN FULL, AND THEY WILL NOT BE UNDERPAID THERE.

16- THEY ARE THOSE WHO WILL HAVE NOTHING IN THE HEREAFTER BUT THE FIRE, AND WHAT THEY DID (IN THE LOWER LIFE) WILL BE IN VAIN, AND THEIR DEEDS WILL BE FALSE.

Allah the Highest is never unfair to anyone and recompenses every one according to their deeds.  They are each rewarded from where they expect to be rewarded.  Those who only desire this life and its pleasures will be rewarded in this life in full, and they will not be underpaid.  Any good they do in the life, while they disbelieve in the Hereafter, are rewarded in this life in the way they like; materially, reputation, etc.  However, they will not have any share in the Hereafter.

They are not deprived of this reward, for they did not believe in the Hereafter in the first place.  However, due to their disbelief, they will be treated as disbelievers, and they will be punished by the Hell-Fire for their disbelief.

This is Allah’s policy with us, stated in a number of Ayahs of the Quran.  Allah the Highest said: “HOWEVER DESIRED THIS PRESENT LIFE, WE WILL GIVE HIM SOON IN IT, WHAT WE WILL TO WHOM WE DESIRE, THEN WE WILL LET HIM HAS THE HELL-FIRE TO BURN IN DESPISED AND DEFEATED * AND HE WHO WANTS THE HEREAFTER AND STRIVES FOR IT WHILE HE IS A BELIEVERS, THEIR STRIVING WILL BE REWARDED * WE SUPPLY THOSE AND THESE OF YOUR LORD’S BOUNTY, FOR YOUR LORD’S BOUNTY IS NOT RESTRICTED * BUT LOOK AND SEE HOW WE FAVOURED SOME TO THE OTHERS, FOR INDEED THE HEREAFTER IS GREATER IN STATUS AND IS A GREATER FAVOUR”.  (S: 17 A: 18-20)

And said: “WHOEVER DESIRES THE HARVEST OF THE HEREAFTER, WE WILL INCREASE HIS HARVEST, AND WHOEVER DESIRES THE HARVEST OF THE LOWER LIFE, WE WILL GIVE HIM OUT OF IT BUT HE WILL HAVE NO SHARE IN THE HEREAFTER”.  (S: 42 A: 20)

Those not rewarded in the Hereafter, are punished.

We should always remember that those who do not believe in or desire the Hereafter, their being recompensed in this life only, does not deprive them of anything they wanted, indeed they were give what they wanted.

Even if the righteous deeds are Islamic, but they did not do it for the sake of Allah the Highest and seeking the Hereafter, but seeking this life, then they are recompensed for it in this life only.  Allah’s messenger, prayer and peace upon him, said: “The first people to be judged on the Day of Resurrection, is a man who has been martyred, he will be brought and shown the bounties he had to acknowledge them, then asked: And what did you do with it? He says: I fought in your cause until I was killed.  He will be told: You lie, but you fought to be called brave”, and he will be dragged face down to be thrown in the Fire.  Similar things will happen to a scholar and to a charitable person.  (M: Egarah)

We cannot judge the intentions and motives behind believer’s actions, and we should not, for this is only known to Allah the Highest.  Therefore, we should never consider a person hypocrite or doing good deeds for show, for this is only known to Allah the Highest.
